BG Associates is an Indian-owned and controlled consulting firm dedicated to the advancement of Native American people through strengthening Indian culture, and building individual capacities through education and training. BG Associates has specialized in providing training and technical assistance for TANF programs (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), and is fully knowledgeable of Indian TANF requirements and regulations. The firm was involved in planning and designing the first Indian “cooperative” TANF program developed, which includes eleven different Tribes in Southern California.
BG Associates currently provides services as a consultant in three different locations within Southern California. East San Diego County, North San Diego County, and Santa Ynez. The TANF programs are fundamentally similar, but each one has been distinctively tailored to the unique needs of the Indian participants in their respective regions. BG Associates’ involvement has been to plan, design, set up, implement and monitor the programs and standards for assessment and training of TANF clients.
