BG Associates is a solely owned company by a Native American Woman, Brenda Arres Guachena, who is an enrolled member of the Rincon Luiseño Band of Indians as per 24 CFR 1000.52 Sec.7(b), and her children are enrolled with the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians. BG Associates is listed with Dunn & Bradstreet.

BG Associates employs a core support administrative staff including: Secretary, Accountant, Administrative Assistants, Educational Coordinator, Tutors, Sports coaches, college promoters, instructors, and Assistant Coordinators.  In addition, BG Associates has long-term retainer agreements with various consultants and businesses that have specific expertise in design and operation of various TANF programs, including: administrative assistant, office manager, accountant, educational coordinator, training director, tutors, sports coaches, college promoters, assistant coordinators, various guest presenters, and instructors.


BG Associates has over 16 years of successfully designing and providing training and technical assistance to Tribal TANF programs under various performance contracts.  Our experience includes working individually and collectively with all of the tribes who are members of Southern California Tribal Chairmen’s Association Inc. (SCTCA) in San Diego and Santa Barbara Counties of California.  In addition BG Associates has worked with Torres-Martinez Tribal TANF Program, Soboba Tribal TANF Program, and the Owens Valley Career Development Corporation Tribal TANF program.  These programs include staff training, TANF client classes and workshops that provide the skills needed to enter the workforce and ultimately become self-sufficient.  In addition, BG Associates has also provided conferences and workshops to TANF youth with the goal of ending the cycle of dependence and preventing out-of-wedlock pregnancies. Some specific areas of training and technical assistance include: Preparation for the world of Work, Family and Fiscal Skills, tutorial for students, beading, sewing, basketry, computer labs, video editing, driver’s license training for class “C” licenses, Parents as Teachers programs for TANF clients, and publishing of multiple manuals and resources for use by Tribal TANF staff and Tribal TANF clients, such as Resource Directories, Operational Manuals, Administrative Forms and Instructional Materials.

Currently BG Associates has contracts with SCTCA that includes a training resource center in North San Diego County and a training resource center at the Santa Ynez Tribal TANF site where the company also provides administrative services. In addition, BG Associates is currently providing a TANF Training Program to the Owens Valley Career Development Corporation for the Lone Pine Tribe which is similar to the Training Resource Center program in North San Diego County.
